Following on from my previous post, which is all about the beginnings of a new deck of playing cards … This update takes a look at the suit of Clubs.

One feature, which runs through this deck, is the fluid suit symbol on each of the royal foreheads. This isn’t to say that they need the realm ‘stamped on the front of their head’ in order to remember where they belong, but more as a subtle reinforcement – this is who I am …

As Jack, Queen and King take form it becomes clear that the royal couple share the same hair stylist (or they both have naturally curly hair)…

Colours in the Suit of Clubs

The last few days have been all about painting the royal clubs and I have to say I am having a lot of fun with this project. With a yellow banner in the background, the colour scheme for the royal Clubs includes the warm tones of orange, brown and red, accentuated by purple and green:

I am still painting the King and will post another update soon :)

Thanks for visiting and take care!

They are so vibrant and happy. I can understand that you are having fun drawing them – who wouldn’t? I am looking forward to seeing the king, I have a feeling that he is going to be quite something.

Thank you Diane :) … and I hope the king lives up to your expectations :)
