Traditionally the Strength card pictures a lion, but I chose a black panther instead; to me the panther embodies both grace and strength, along with a large measure of mystique – simply a gorgeous ‘big cat’. I also liked the idea of strength being a side-by-side companion rather than a force to be tamed. I’m definitely allowing myself a lot of artistic freedom when interpreting the cards, even though I aim to retain the symbolic meaning of each card :)
